aka “the Gorge,” “the Red,” “RRG,” “paradise,” etc.
The Red River Gorge is a wild geological wonderland nestled in the foothills of eastern Kentucky. Its breathtaking ridgetop vistas, soaring arches, jaw-dropping rock shelters, lush forests, and winding streams are the definition of nature’s majesty.
You’re gonna love it here if you’re the outdoorsy type. There’s hiking, world class rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, ziplining—pretty much anything except for whitewater rafting.
Even if you’re not into the great outdoors, there are low-sweat activities like cave kayaking, a skylift, scenic drives, and overlooks. Even just driving around here is an experience.
This is our favorite place in the world, and we love to share it. Some people we’ve brought here have gotten moved to tears. No one has ever forgotten it.
The Katie half of us has been coming here since she was 6 weeks old. Legend has it that one of her diapers got buried on the Whittleton Arch trail (and is probably still there… sorry, environment).
Katie first brought Jason here in November 2015, after a few months of dating.
And we’ve been coming back together every moment we could ever since.
